There are around 200 museums in Türkiye, affiliated to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. There are also around 250 private museums. How would you like to visit many museums and archaeological sites affiliated with the ministry in a much more affordable way on your trip to Türkiye?
First of all, if you are a student in Türkiye or working as an academic staff at a university, you can buy Müzekart+ much cheaper. These cards are valid for one year from the day you get them.
If you are in Türkiye for a short vacation and want to visit museums and archaeological sites, you can choose the one that best suits your plan from the six cards below.
1. Museum Pass Türkiye
This card, whose price is currently 1000 TL, is valid for 15 days from the moment it is used. With this card, you can only enter each museum once. It is valid in more than 300 museums and archaeological sites across Türkiye. (e.g. You can visit Diyarbakir Cahit Sitki Taranci Museum with the card.)
2. Museum Pass İstanbul
This card, which costs 700 TL, is valid for 5 days from the moment it is used. It allows you to visit more than 10 museums in Istanbul free of charge. (e.g. You can visit the Topkapi Palace with the card.)
3. Museum Pass Cappadocia
If you want to visit more than 10 museums and archaeological sites in Nevşehir and Aksaray, Museum Pass Cappadocia is the card you should buy. The price is 400 TL and is valid for three days.
4. Museum Pass the Mediterranean
This card, which allows you to visit more than 40 museums and archaeological sites in Antalya, Mersin, Adana and Denizli, is valid for 7 days and costs 650 TL. (e.g. You can visit Alanya Castle with the card.)
5. Museum Pass the Aegean
The price of this card, which is valid for 7 days in more than 40 museums and archaeological sites in İzmir, Aydın, Muğla and Denizli, is 650 TL.
Things to Consider
1. It only grants one free entry to a museum or archaeological site. So when you decide to enter a place for the second time, you have to buy a ticket.
2. It is not valid in all museums and archaeological sites affiliated to the Ministry.
How Can You Decide Which Card to Buy?
When planning your trip, it is useful to decide where and how many days you will stay. For example, if you are going to stay in Istanbul for a few days and then go to Cappadocia, you can consider Museum Pass Türkiye. On the other hand, if you spend your holiday only in Istanbul, it will be enough to buy the Museum Pass Istanbul.
If you are going to visit the cities not mentioned above, I cannot recommend buying a card. However, if you have museums and archaeological sites in your plan, you can still consider getting the first card.
