İzmir: Zübeyde Hanım Education and Museum Ship

The ferry, which was built in 1987 and served in İstanbul for many years under the name Rumelikavağı, was renamed "Zübeyde Hanım" in 2007 and moved to İzmir. During your walk in Kordon, you can take a break on this ferry, which is now used as a training and museum ship.

Who is Zübeyde Hanım?

Born in 1856, Zübeyde Hanım  is the mother of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of Turkey. The grave of Zübeyde Hanım, who died in 1923, is located in İzmir.

Zübeyde Hanım Education and Museum Ship

The ferry, which was brought to İzmir in 2007, was on the Karşıyaka coast. Then in 2018, it was taken to the shipyard for maintenance and then brought to its current location.

You can visit the ship free of charge from 10 am to 4 pm. (Location: While walking from Passport Pier in the direction of Konak in Kordon...)
