ps: There are more than one museum which name is with Atatürk. Therefore, when making a search about this museum, I suggest you write it as İzmir Atatürk Museum. I also want to say this. I had been to this museum years ago and wasn't thinking of visiting it again. However, after the terrorist attack in Istanbul yesterday, I wanted to visit a museum again. One of the aims of terrorist organizations is to create chaos and I can clearly say that there were at least 15 visitors in the museum. Although it is weekdays and morning hours...

The building, which was built as a house in 1880 (in some sources, 1875. I think its construction started in 1875), was used as a work office by Atatürk. It has been used as a museum since 1941. The museum, where Atatürk's belongings are exhibited, is one of the places that must be visited by those who come to İzmir. I suggest you spare at least half an hour of your time.

The museum consists of two floors and different sections. I guess you can complete the visit in at least 20 minutes.

The museum is open seven days a week and you can visit it until 17:30.

How to get to Izmir Ataturk Museum?

The distance between Alsancak Ferry Terminal and the museum is only 400 meters and you can easily reach it on foot in 4-5 minutes. This will be the ideal option for those coming from Karşıyaka and Bostanlı. Talatpaşa Bus Stop is 600-650 meters away and can be reached on foot in 8 minutes. Buses running between Halkapınar (Metro) and Konak number 253 pass through this stop during the daytime. Therefore, this bus line can be preferred for those who use the metro or İZBAN. Hotels in the center such as Hilton, Swissotel and Movenpick are also within a 15-minute walking distance from the museum.
