Domestic Flights in Turkey

There are about 60 airports in Turkey. However, with the exception of seasonal flights, all other flights are usually organized to five airports. These five airports are usually used for access to other points from Cappadocia to the Black Sea, from the Coastal Aegean to the Southeast. In order for you to plan your transportation quickly and affordably, we suggest you check out this post.

Popular Five Airports: İstanbul (Asia and Europe), Ankara, İzmir and Antalya

1 and 2 are İstanbul. (İstanbul and Sabiha Gökçen airports)

3rd one is Ankara, Esenboğa Airport.

4th one is İzmir, Adnan Menderes Airport.

And 5th one is Antalya Airport. (The other one is Alanya Gazipaşa Airport in Antalya)

If you are going to travel to or near one of the places numbered 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5, we recommend that you check out the airline company on the map. For example, if you are coming to İzmir or another city near it (such as Manisa), you can come by direct flight if you evaluate SunExpress company. Of course, this will depend on where the airline originated from.

1. If you are coming to the European side of İstanbul or to one of the Thracian cities such as Tekirdağ, Turkish Airlines will be ideal.

2. For the Anatolian side of İstanbul, you can evaluate Pegasus. Also ideal for cities such as Sakarya, Yalova and Bursa will be the airline company Pegasus.

3. AnadoluJet is one of the most suitable companies for Ankara. It can also be preferred for cities such as Konya, Eskişehir, Kütahya.

4. Apart from İzmir, for cities such as Balıkesir, Manisa, Uşak, Afyon, Aydın, the company you need to evaluate is SunExpress.

5. You can consider the same company for Antalya as for İzmir . You can also evaluate Antalya for Karaman, Burdur, Isparta together with Konya.

For all other cities (Southeastern, Eastern Anatolian and Black Sea cities), it is better to decide according to the company rather than the transfer location. For example, if you are coming from Germany, it will be easier for you to come to İzmir with SunExpress and then reach your destination point.

SunExpress operates flights to Western Europe, mainly to Germany. Pegasus' flights are spreading across a wider map. You can plan your flight with Pegasus from different countries such as Albania, UAE, Iraq, Morocco, Qatar, Moldova. AnadoluJet is a brand of Turkish Airlines, so you can consider Turkish Airlines for the remaining continents.
