Thank you International Community #earthquakeinturkey

Disasters, wars, terrorism and epidemics... These sufferings do not consider people's age, gender, religion, language, ethnic identity or any other criteria. Unfortunately, the 2010s witnessed a difficult process for the whole world and it continues in the same way in the 2020s. Troubles follow in almost every region. The last one took place on February 6th... Two earthquakes, the epicenter of which was Türkiye, once again reminded the international community of the spirit of unity and solidarity. As of February 8, search and rescue activities are still continuing in Türkiye and Syria...

When the international call for help was officially made on February 6, the whole world stood up. As a Turkish citizen, I am grateful and indeed touched by the quick help of the international community.

If you would like to support Türkiye, you can find some governmental and non-governmental organizations here: How Can You Help for Earthquake in Türkiye?

There will surely be something that I have overlooked, but I think it is my duty to thank each state and many aid organizations from Asia to America, from Europe to Africa one by one.

The Identity and Citizenship of Grief

Everyone, but everyone without exception, showed that the grief is common. Grief has no identity or citizenship...

  • Ukraine and Russia sent search and rescue teams even though they were in a war. I think this is a really meaningful step, thank you very much...
  • As you know, there were some political problems between Greece and Türkiye. However, for years, these two neighboring states have been helping each other in difficult times. They're like two brothers with a little age difference. They can't get along in normal times, but when one needs it, the other does its best to help the other. Thank you very much Neighbor...

  • Azerbaijan and Türkiye may be two separate states, but in reality they are one nation. Azerbaijan was the first to send the most comprehensive aid. Thank you very much...
  • TRNC was one of the first few search and rescue teams to reach Türkiye. Cyprus offered help also. Many thanks to both sides of the island... Thank you very much...
  • From the Middle East, Israel, Palestine, UAE, Iran, Lebanon, Egypt, Qatar, Algeria, Tunisia, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia... From the Balkans, Bulgaria, Kosovo, Montenegro, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Croatia... Friends with whom we have a common history of hundreds of years... Israel's aid movement (Olive Branches) symbolizes the support of all countries... Thank you very much...

  • Our neighbors Georgia and Armenia... Czechia, Slovakia, Romania, Hungary, with whom we share a close geography... Thank you very much...
  • Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, our brothers in Central Asia, and Pakistan, which is always on Türkiye's side... Thank you very much...
  • Japan and Korea, from whom we have to learn a lot... From the other end of Asia, China, Taiwan, Malaysia... India, which quickly lends a helping hand... I would also like to mention the name given by India: #OperationDost Thank you very much...

  • From the farthest geographies, the USAMexico, CanadaVenezuela, El SalvadorAustralia and New Zealand... Thank you very much...

  • Spain... Such a comprehensive and great help, you have truly become a legend... Thank you very much...

  • Almost every state in Europe... Germany, France, United Kingdom, Poland, Switzerland, Austria, Moldova, Portugal, Netherlands, Italy, Belgium, Estonia, Malta... Thank you very much...
Also, intergovernmental organizations such as UN, NATO, EU and non-governmental organizations around the world... Thank you very much...
