Hair Transplantation in Türkiye

According to the Health Tourism Association, one million people came to Türkiye for hair transplantation in 2022 and each spent an average of 2000 USD. You can find some details you might be wondering about here...

Hair transplantation is the transfer of hair follicles taken from the back of the head, which is resistant to baldness, to the area where the hair is shed. However, the patient who will have a hair transplant operation can only be a donor himself. Türkiye is an ideal destination for health tourism. I think that it is one of the most popular options, especially in hair transplantation. So what should you pay attention to when choosing a hospital or clinic?

1. Internet Ads and Clinics

In the digital age, there are dozens of advertisements for hair transplantation in both internet advertisements and social media content. Some of them provide consultancy services to you. They are extremely interesting, as they provide a wide range of services from your trip to accommodation. On the other hand, they make clinical recommendations. At this point, you should pay attention to whether the hair transplant clinic is legal or not.

I can suggest that you search for the name of the hair transplant clinic in Turkish on Google. You can enter the Turkish page and translate it into your own language with Google Translate. (Even if the website has an English page, I think you should translate the Turkish version)

Make sure that it is a place subject to the permission and control of the Ministry of Health.

According to the relevant regulation, hair transplantation can only be done by specialist doctors (dermatology and venereal diseases specialists, plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgery specialists and medical aesthetic certified physicians). In addition, the medical equipment that should be kept in hair transplantation centers has also been determined by the Ministry.

In short, don't believe every advertisement, as illegal hair transplant operations in hotel rooms, in outpatient clinics, business centers without permission will adversely affect your health.

2. University Hospitals and the Others

You have many options for hair transplant in Türkiye. There are only clinics focused on this work. In addition, some private hospitals also have hair transplant departments. Plus, there are alternatives for hair transplantation in university hospitals. I wanted to compile a few options that have made a name for themselves with activities in various fields. Do not view this as a medical recommendation. You can only consider them for comparison and evaluation.

Note: When searching for an institution on Google, make sure you don't end up on a fake website with a similar name...

i. İstanbul

Koç University Hospital, which has been providing hair transplant services since the second half of the 1990s, may be an option for those who prefer İstanbul. Access to the hospital, located on the European side of İstanbul, is extremely easy.

İstanbul Okan University Hospital is located on the Asian side, close to Sabiha Gökçen Airport.

ii. İzmir

Kent Hospital is one of the oldest and most reliable hospitals in İzmir. The hospital, which has made a name for itself in many areas, also includes hair transplantation.

Ekol Hospital is another option that can be evaluated by those who are considering a hair transplant in İzmir.

iii. Ankara

Baskent University, based in Ankara, is one of the most famous institutions in Türkiye. It also has hospitals in Adana, İstanbul, İzmir, Alanya (Antalya) and Konya.

Attention:
If you are in doubt in an institution and want to confirm its reliability,
you can call 112 in case of emergency or 184 for information or complaints.

Comments

  1. Hair transplant is a good way of covering up baldness... Though it can be a very stressful surgery but it's always worth it at the end...It should also be done at the right medical centers or hospitals, if not, things might go wrong.
