You are likely to feel hungry at the end of a busy day during your holiday in Türkiye. If your hotel is bed and breakfast, or if you want to eat something other than a cold sandwich in the middle of the night, you have a few options. Of course, it is useful to include other situations where you do not want to leave the hotel. Let's see together...
Drinking some water and waiting for breakfast is the first option. I guess there's no need to talk about it. Another possibility is to request something from room service or tamper with the minibar. You can also ask the hotel reception about the restaurants in the area and decide according to their recommendations. What I want to mention in this post is Food Delivery applications and/or websites.
As it is known, online food ordering applications take commission from the restaurant depending on the order amount. Not chain restaurants like Burger King; however, some restaurants may offer a discount equal to that commission when you place an order over the phone. For example, if you order a lahmacun from the application, it is 35 TL, while ordering by phone can be 30 TL. Here, "I saw 35 TL here, is it the same when ordering over the phone, or should I order from there?" you have to ask. I think a friend or hotel employee will do this for you.
I would also like to point out that some chain restaurants prepare a few special menus for almost every application.
- Yemeksepeti
Yemeksepeti is Türkiye's oldest online food ordering company. In my opinion, the application with the most restaurants. The website can be used in English; but the menu of the restaurants is in Turkish. You can take advantage of the fact that there are products written the same way, such as baklava, hamburger, lahmacun.
- GetirYemek (GetirFood)
Getir Yemek is another option where you can order without having to download any app, just like Yemeksepeti. And unfortunately the menu content is not in English, so the same logic as Yemeksepeti...
- Trendyol Yemek, Tıkla Gelsin, Hepsiexpress
Unfortunately, you cannot order from Trendyol Yemek without downloading the application to your phone. The same is true for Tıkla Gelsin and Hepsiexpress.
Tips
In fact, the applications I use the most are Yemeksepeti and Trendyol Yemek. However, I would like to give an example for you on Yemeksepeti and GetirYemek.
You can open Yemeksepeti and/or GetirYemek websites and find restaurants serving your address (the hotel you are staying at). I proceeded through an example address: Swissotel The Bosphorus. The location of the hotel can be determined as an address on both sites. Then you can see the restaurants that bring food orders to this address. The minimum order amount of each restaurant is written in Turkish Lira and the menus are already in Turkish Lira. I opened a random doner shop: Adembey Döner. The minimum order amount is 40 TL on Yemeksepeti, and 37 TL on GetirYemek. Then I looked at the menu. Ayran, which is 15 TL, has been discounted at Yemeksepeti and is sold for 13.50 TL. 15 TL at GetirYemek. There is a similar situation for 120 gr doner. While it is 99 TL in GetirYemek, it is 89.10 TL in Yemeksepeti. In this way, you can compare foods and prices if you wish. It could also be the other way around. In other words, there are cheaper ones in GetirYemek and more expensive ones in Yemeksepeti.
The food delivery application of the company Yemeksepeti is the best application in Turkey today. Fast food delivery regardless of the weather, affordable service prices. Diverse food and drink. I really like this company
