İzmir: Karşıyaka Bazaar

Welcome to Karşıyaka Bazaar, one of the most developed districts of Turkey, integrated with the name of the district. Actually, the word "çarşı" is used in Turkish and this word can be translated as means bazaar, arcade, market. However, when "bazaar" is mentioned, it is quite normal to think of the Grand Bazaar, Spice Bazaar or Kemeraltı. Without diverting the subject, let's go back to Karşıyaka Bazaar...

by land side

If you want to experience street delicacies and do affordable shopping in İzmir, add Karşıyaka to your route. Affordable shopping is possible in bazaars, not shopping malls in Turkey, and especially when it comes to textiles...

What awaits you?

I made the directions to take the pier behind us. If you came from the bay or by tram, it's okay.

Beverage: Before entering the bazaar, there are different bars just on the right. Maybe you can evaluate one of these places on your way back. In particular, I would like to suggest: Yerde Fıstık

Patisserie: There are different patisseries along the street. My first suggestion is Evim, which is on your right when you enter the street. Torpil is a flavor you should definitely try.

Döner: There are many doner restaurants throughout the bazaar. I think more local ones are better. Sakıpağa and Mis are the two doner restaurants I would recommend. Both restaurants will be on your left when you enter the street. There is a distance of 15-20 meters between them.

Bakery: For my bakery recommendation, you have to cross the street from end to end. Aksa Bakery will be on your right when you finish the street and arrive at the train station. I recommend gevrek, boyoz and tahini bun.

Offal and seafood: After entering the street, I suggest you look at the second street on your right. Kokoreç, mussels, fish breads and similar flavors in this street...

How to go to Karşıyaka Bazaar?

There are different options; however, the decision is yours as to which one is more suitable for you according to your accommodation... The first option is from the bay. You can easily reach the bazaar by taking a ferrydeparting from Konak, Alsancak or Passport piers.

by sea side

If you are coming from Gaziemir (Airport) and Selçuk direction, we definitely recommend İZBAN. Just get off at Karşıyaka Station. If you are coming from the Çiğli side in Karşıyaka, you can reach the area by tram.

Note for Navigation: The name of the street is Kemal Pasha (Kemal Paşa Caddesi), but it is known as Karşıyaka Bazaar.
