The Çanakkale 1915 Bridge will Opened on March 18

The Çanakkale 1915 Bridge

The fourth bridge connecting Asia and Europe is going to be opened for service on March 18. The first bridge connecting the two continents was opened in 1973, the second in 1988, and the third in 2016. The Marmara Tunnel is connected both sides in Istanbul in 2013. In 2022, the fourth bridge and the fifth option will opened in Çanakkale.

The bridge has several functions for tourists who come by private car.

Tourists coming from Europe to the Aegean and Mediterranean directions had to stop by Istanbul in advance. If they wanted to cross Çanakkale, they also had to use the ferry. Stopping by Istanbul increased the distance by at least 100 kilometers. In addition, when Istanbul traffic was caught, the time spent on the road also increased. On the other hand, the biggest problem with the ferries was the bad weather conditions. The weather could be expected to calm down for hours.

If you are traveling over Istanbul so far, you can try the new bridge next time.

The bridge will also provide a plus for those who will come to Çanakkale on ANZAC Day. It can be predicted that it will be a convenience for those who want to travel around the city in a rented car and maybe also see the surrounding provinces.
